Alto Launches Free Online Auction Service for 6,000 Estate Agencies

Alto has introduced an online property auction service across its estate agency software platform, providing more than 6,000 subscriber agencies with access to traditional and conditional auctions at no additional subscription cost. The new service, Alto Auctions, is powered by Bamboo Proptech and is now available to around 35,000 daily Alto users.

According to Alto, this rollout covers approximately a third of UK estate agencies. The auction service is fully integrated into Alto’s CRM, enabling agents to identify suitable properties for auction and manage the process directly from existing property records. Bamboo’s data analysis rates individual properties for auction suitability, and the system includes AI-based pricing guidance.

Agents have the option to run auctions themselves with back-office support from Bamboo, or to use a fully managed service where Bamboo’s auction team handles the listing, auction, and completion. In both scenarios, agents can monitor progress through the Alto platform.

Alto states that agents will receive at least £2,500 for each completed auction transaction in addition to their standard vendor fee. For conditional auctions, agents can earn a buyer fee equivalent to 1.5% plus VAT of the purchase price.

The launch comes as UK property auction activity has increased. Figures from Essential Information Group show that 4,042 lots were offered in June 2026, with 2,659 sold, representing a 36.5% increase in auction activity compared to the previous year.

Alto claims that the fall-through rate for transactions completed through Alto Auctions is below 1%, with buyers paying a non-refundable fee and becoming committed when an auction concludes. The company also says that suitable properties can complete in around six weeks.

Bamboo Proptech reports that its platform has handled more than £1bn of property sales across 5,600 properties and is currently used by more than 1,200 estate agency branches.
