Catalyst Property Finance Hires Burden and Maragkoudaki in Dual Appointment

Specialist lender Catalyst Property Finance has appointed two new members to its team. Jade Burden has been hired to the newly created role of operations project manager, while Marianna Maragkoudaki joins as an underwriter.

Burden will review and improve the lender's processes and operational efficiency, while Maragkoudaki will support demand and help maintain its lending decisions. Catalyst Property Finance said the appointments underlined its investment in underwriting expertise and operational excellence, while maintaining its service to brokers and borrowers.

New Operations Project Manager Role

Burden brings experience from a variety of operational and project-focused roles in the financial services sector, covering both secured and unsecured lending. According to the lender, she has previously been involved in reviewing and redesigning processes and implementing system improvements, with a focus on automation.

Her role at Catalyst will focus on reviewing and enhancing operational processes, and supporting teams with the systems and workflows needed to deliver quality service efficiently.

Matt Gillon, director of underwriting at Catalyst Property Finance, described Burden's appointment as a key element of the firm's commitment to continuous improvement, saying the newly created role will help ensure processes are regularly reviewed and adapted to be as efficient as possible, improving service and outcomes for brokers and borrowers.

Underwriting Team Strengthened

Maragkoudaki joins from Think Property Finance, where she gained experience managing and underwriting bridging and development projects throughout the full lifecycle, from initial enquiry to completion. She has also gained her CeMAP qualification, which she said enhanced her understanding of property transactions, short-term finance structures and end products.

Aaron Deo, underwriting manager at Catalyst Property Finance, said Maragkoudaki joins with extensive underwriting experience and will play an important role in supporting the firm's broker partners and customers, strengthening the team and helping maintain service levels while meeting growing demand.

What This Means for Brokers and Intermediaries

For letting agents, inventory clerks and brokers working with short-term and bridging finance, the appointments signal Catalyst's stated focus on operational efficiency and underwriting capacity. The lender positions both hires as supporting its service to brokers and borrowers as demand grows.
