House Hunt Moves from Spreadsheets to Alto CRM for Student Lettings

Selly Oak-based student lettings agency House Hunt has selected Alto as its AI-native CRM partner, moving away from manual processes to a fully integrated operational platform. The agency manages a portfolio of over 1,000 properties, with around 300 currently under management, most of which are HMO student lets.

House Hunt operates just minutes from the University of Birmingham. As the business expanded, the team identified increasing operational risk due to manual processes and fragmented data. The agency described its previous model as unsustainable, with key information spread across multiple systems and reliant on specific team members.

Branch Manager Kiran Bhogal noted that information was previously held in different places or depended on staff availability, creating challenges when team members were absent. The agency sought a system that would allow all staff to access information from a single source.

The decision to implement Alto’s property management CRM was driven by the need to improve efficiency, enable collaboration across departments, and support future expansion into residential lettings and sales. Compliance automation was highlighted as a particularly important factor, given the high proportion of HMO properties and their regulatory requirements.

With onboarding now underway, House Hunt is focused on embedding Alto across all departments to create a more resilient and scalable operation.
