HTB Launches Dedicated Relationship Managers for Specialist Mortgages

Hampshire Trust Bank (HTB) has introduced a dedicated relationship manager model within its specialist mortgage division. The new approach is designed to provide brokers with a single point of contact throughout each case.

The relationship manager role will combine the responsibilities of lending managers and completion officers, allowing for ownership of each case from enquiry to completion. HTB stated that this change aims to deliver a more consistent and accountable process, with clearer oversight and timely decision-making at every stage.

Relationship managers will work directly with assigned business development managers (BDMs) to align origination and delivery, offering brokers greater continuity. According to HTB, reducing the number of handoffs during the process is expected to bring more consistency to case decisions as they progress.

HTB said the decision to implement this model followed feedback from brokers and borrowers. As part of the new structure, Hayley Pedlar has been appointed head of new business processing, overseeing the initial delivery and progression of cases. Ceri Blackwell has been named head of property operations and small change, responsible for operational delivery.

This development is relevant for UK letting agents and inventory clerks who work with brokers and landlords managing specialist mortgage cases, as it may impact the efficiency and clarity of mortgage processing.
