Investec Completes £922m in Real Estate Lending Over Past Year

Investec Bank’s real estate business completed £922 million in lending between April 2025 and March 2026. The lending included £284 million in development lending and £639 million in investment financing.

The bank’s lending was distributed across several sectors, with £322 million allocated to residential lending, £374 million to commercial property, and £226 million to student accommodation and co-living. Over the last three financial years, Investec has completed £955 million in development lending and £1.53 billion in investment financing.

In terms of sector breakdown over the past three years, residential lending accounted for £755 million, commercial property for £1.26 billion, and student accommodation and co-living for £462 million.

Investec has also syndicated more than £1 billion since establishing its syndication platform, which the bank said has enabled it to underwrite and deliver larger transactions, supported by faster decision-making and flexible solutions.

Additionally, Investec’s real estate equity strategy, REALIS, launched in 2024, completed five transactions over the past year with a combined gross development value of £140 million. Since its launch, REALIS has completed eight transactions totalling £285 million in gross development value.

These developments may be of interest to UK letting agents and inventory clerks monitoring trends in property finance, particularly in the residential, commercial, and student accommodation sectors.
