L&G Mortgage Club Launches Specialist Academy for Advisers

L&G’s Mortgage Club has launched a specialist academy aimed at helping advisers build confidence, knowledge, and practical skills to support increasingly complex client needs. In its pilot year, 250 Mortgage Club members will participate, including advisers new to specialist lending and those seeking to strengthen their expertise.

The academy will guide participants towards the Certified Practitioner in Specialist Property Finance (CPSP) qualification from the London Institute of Banking & Finance (LIBF), part of Walbrook Institute London. Attendees will also gain access to insights from across the specialist lending market.

The programme covers all CPSP modules, including specialist property finance, regulation, bridging, commercial, and buy-to-let (BTL) lending. It also includes specialist lender insights across bridging, commercial, specialist residential, specialist BTL, and second charge finance. Learning content will be delivered in multiple formats, such as case studies, videos, interactive webinars, and expert insights.

The academy has been developed in collaboration with the LIBF, platform partners, and 11 specialist lenders. Together is the headline sponsor for the academy’s inaugural year, with additional sponsorship from Aldermore, Pepper Money, The Mortgage Lender & Bluestone Mortgages, InterBay, ModaMortgages, CHL Mortgages, Market Harborough Building Society, Paragon, Kensington Mortgages, and Vida Homeloans.

This initiative may be of interest to UK letting agents and inventory clerks, as it aims to enhance adviser expertise in areas such as buy-to-let and specialist property finance, which are relevant to the rental and property management sectors.
