L&G Mortgage Club Launches Specialist Academy for Broker Training

L&G Mortgage Club has launched a Specialist Academy aimed at helping advisers become more confident and knowledgeable when dealing with complex client circumstances. The programme is free to access and will involve 250 members of the Mortgage Club in its pilot year.

The Specialist Academy is designed to support advisers who are new to specialist lending as well as those seeking to enhance their expertise. Participants will work towards achieving a Certified Practitioner in Specialist Property Finance (CPSP) qualification from the London Institute of Banking and Finance (LIBF), part of Walbrook Institute London. The academy covers all CPSP modules, including specialist property finance, regulation, bridging, commercial, and buy-to-let (BTL) lending, and provides access to insights from experts across the specialist lending market.

The programme has been developed in collaboration with the LIBF, platform partners, and 11 specialist lenders. Together is the headline sponsor, with additional sponsorship from Aldermore, Pepper Money, The Mortgage Lender (TML), Bluestone Mortgages, InterBay, ModaMortgages, CHL Mortgages, Market Harborough Building Society, Paragon, Kensington Mortgages, and Vida Homeloans.

The initiative reflects L&G Mortgage Club’s commitment to raising standards across the sector through qualifications, lender expertise, and real-world applications delivered via a single educational platform.

This development is relevant to UK letting agents and inventory clerks as it highlights ongoing efforts to improve adviser education in specialist property finance, including areas such as buy-to-let and commercial lending.
