Market Harborough BS Launches Dedicated Broker Support Teams

Market Harborough Building Society has restructured its broker support model, introducing dedicated teams for brokers. The new approach aims to provide brokers with a named, decision-making unit responsible for each case through to offer.

According to the lender, each broker will now have access to a team consisting of two business development managers (one field-based and one telephone-based), an underwriter, and a case manager. This team will collaborate on each case, with brokers gaining direct access to their named underwriter.

Market Harborough Building Society stated that this change is intended to reduce hand-offs, clarify decision-making, and foster a sense of ownership over each case. The lender is moving away from a transactional case-handling approach, focusing instead on building long-term, relationship-led partnerships with brokers.

The society said that aligning decision-makers into dedicated, broker-owned teams is designed to address frustrations brokers may experience with other lenders. The new structure is intended to provide consistency and continuity of support throughout the case journey.

For UK letting agents and inventory clerks, changes in broker support models can impact the speed and clarity of mortgage decisions, which may affect property transactions and tenancy timelines.
