RAW Capital Partners Co-Founder Tim Parkes Steps Down as CEO
Tim Parkes, co-founder of RAW Capital Partners, has stepped down as chief executive of the Guernsey-based specialist lender. Ben Nichols, previously managing director, has taken over the CEO role.
Parkes will continue to be closely involved with RAW Capital Partners, providing strategic support as a senior adviser and serving as chairman of the RAW Mortgage Fund board. Parkes co-founded the company in 2015 with Richard Avery Wright, after a career at Barclays and roles in strategy, business development, and management consultancy.
RAW Capital Partners was established to address areas of the UK property finance market that Parkes and Avery Wright believed were underserved by mainstream lenders. The company initially focused on lending to foreign nationals, UK expats, and Channel Island trust companies investing in the buy-to-let market through the RAW Mortgage Fund.
Ben Nichols has worked at RAW for over four years, joining as chief financial officer before becoming interim managing director in February 2024 and managing director in September 2024. During Parkes’ tenure as CEO, the RAW Mortgage Fund surpassed £200 million in assets under management, and the business recorded its strongest year for lending in 2025. In December, RAW Capital Partners launched a UK-resident mortgage proposition.
This leadership change is relevant to UK letting agents and inventory clerks as RAW Capital Partners is active in the buy-to-let mortgage sector, including products for UK residents and expats.
