Rob Lankey Promoted to Chief Commercial Officer at Afin Bank
Rob Lankey has been promoted to chief commercial officer (CCO) at Afin Bank. In his new role, Lankey will oversee the bank’s lending strategy and manage the specialist lender’s sales team.
Lankey joined Afin Bank as director of credit during its launch phase last year. At the start of this year, he became national sales director as the team expanded with the addition of several new business development managers.
As CCO, Lankey will help shape Afin Bank as it reinforces its presence in the marketplace. The bank supports borrowers who may not meet mainstream mortgage criteria, including the self-employed, workers with multiple incomes, qualified professionals, high-net-worth borrowers, and foreign nationals working in the UK.
Lankey has over 35 years’ experience in credit, operations, and commercial roles in the mortgage industry, particularly in the intermediary sector. He has been involved in the start-up or early stages of six banks and lenders, including Aldermore, and has served as chief executive of the National Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (NACFB).
Afin Bank’s chief executive, Jason Oakley, highlighted Lankey’s knowledge of mortgage lending and his understanding of broker partners and customers as vital to the bank’s progress so far.
This appointment may be of interest to UK letting agents and inventory clerks, as Afin Bank’s focus includes supporting a range of borrowers who may require specialist mortgage products.
