Tim Parkes Steps Down as CEO of RAW Capital Partners

Tim Parkes has stepped down from his role as CEO of RAW Capital Partners. Ben Nichols has taken over the day-to-day running of the business as Chief Executive Officer.

Parkes will remain closely involved with the Guernsey-based specialist lender as a senior advisor and Chairman of the RAW Mortgage Fund board, continuing to provide strategic input and specialist support. Parkes co-founded RAW Capital Partners in 2015 alongside Richard Avery Wright, after a career at Barclays and roles in strategy, business development, and management consultancy.

RAW Capital Partners was founded after Parkes and Avery Wright identified that parts of the UK property finance market were underserved by mainstream lenders. The company initially lent exclusively to foreign nationals, UK expats, and Channel Island trust companies investing in the UK buy-to-let market through the RAW Mortgage Fund.

During Parkes’ tenure, RAW Capital Partners expanded its presence in the specialist mortgage market. The RAW Mortgage Fund has surpassed £200 million in assets under management, and the business recorded its strongest year for lending in 2025. The company also broadened its proposition with the launch of a UK-resident mortgage proposition in December.

Ben Nichols has worked with RAW Capital Partners for more than four years, initially joining as Chief Financial Officer. He became Interim Managing Director in February 2024 and Managing Director in September 2024. Nichols has previously taken responsibility for running the business during Parkes’ absences.

This leadership change is relevant to UK letting agents and inventory clerks as RAW Capital Partners is active in the UK buy-to-let mortgage market, including lending to UK expats and foreign nationals. The company’s continued growth and leadership stability may impact lending options and services available to property professionals.
