Wolverhampton Mortgage Broker Moves to High Street for Greater Local Presence

Balwant Dhaliwal, founder of The Mortgage Mogul in Wolverhampton, has relocated his mortgage and protection advisory business to a high street premises. Dhaliwal believes this move will increase his firm's visibility and reputation as a community-based business.

Dhaliwal launched The Mortgage Mogul in 2023, initially working remotely with an administrator. After observing local competitors and seeking a better work/life balance, he decided to pursue a physical office presence. In January of the following year, he secured his first office within a serviced building shared with several other businesses. He hired his first administrator in April, followed by his current administrator in June.

The business began to grow organically through Google reviews, referrals, and social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. Dhaliwal noted that most of his local competitors operated from home, with only one other practice previously maintaining a professional office before moving remote. Based on five-star Google reviews, Dhaliwal stated he was ranking number two in Wolverhampton, and by review count, he would be number one in the city.

In May, Dhaliwal started searching for a high street location and has now moved into premises situated near other local businesses, including an accountant, cafe, and hairdresser. He reported that the new location experiences significant footfall, especially during school start and end times. Dhaliwal compared the cost of the new premises to his previous office, stating that the difference could be covered by one additional case, and highlighted the potential for greater business growth.

With increased business volume, Dhaliwal is now looking to recruit more staff to ensure each client receives sufficient attention and to maintain the firm's reputation. He expressed a long-term vision of establishing a strong foothold in the community and becoming the go-to mortgage broker in Wolverhampton.

Dhaliwal also shared that his motivation for building the business is to spend more time with his family and create meaningful memories, aiming for a work environment that allows for time off while the business continues to operate smoothly.
