Hope Capital Increases Shawbrook Funding Facility to £50m

Hope Capital Property Finance has increased its committed funding facility with Shawbrook Bank to £50 million. This move deepens the relationship between the two lenders and supports Hope Capital’s long-term growth strategy in the UK bridging finance market.

Hope Capital initially secured a £15 million facility from Shawbrook in 2023, with further increases in 2024 and 2025, reaching the current total of £50 million. The lender has also broadened its funding base, including a renewed senior funding line from Triple Point, which increased to £75 million, and a £35 million committed funding line from Hampshire Trust Bank, secured in June.

The combined facilities are intended to support increasing borrowing demand and Hope Capital’s expansion plans. The company recently reported a record-breaking financial period, with a 61% increase in its loan book, an 86% rise in applications, and a 46% increase in funding facilities. Its pipeline also grew by 15%. So far this year, Hope Capital has seen a 45% annual rise in enquiries and a 30% uplift in applications.

Hope Capital now has £160 million of committed funding across its funding partners. The lender stated it is “well positioned” to scale its lending and expand its presence in the UK bridging finance sector.

For letting agents and inventory clerks, the increased funding and growth in bridging finance may signal greater activity in the property market, potentially leading to more transactions and demand for related services.
