Majority of Home Movers Support Digital Property Packs, OPDA Finds
A new report from the Open Property Data Association (OPDA) reveals that 86% of recent homebuyers believe using a digital property pack is a good idea when buying or selling a property. The OPDA’s Future of Homebuying Report is based on research from more than 5,000 recent home movers.
The report shows an increase in support for digital property packs, up from 82% in 2025. Confidence in sharing key documents through a digital property pack has also risen, from 76% in 2025 to 87% today.
The findings follow the government’s recent home buying and selling roadmap, which outlines plans for new sales packs, earlier binding agreements, and digital tools to improve the property market. According to the OPDA report, 40% of respondents said digitalisation would have the biggest impact on improving the home buying process, ahead of faster processes and better communication.
Despite these positive trends, the report notes that 78% of respondents believe the system still requires fundamental reform, even though 65% think the home moving process is fit for the digital age. There is strong optimism about the future, with 86% confident that the home buying and selling process will improve over the next five years.
The OPDA report highlights a clear appetite among consumers for digital solutions and modernisation in the property sector. For UK letting agents and inventory clerks, these findings suggest a growing expectation for digital tools and transparent information sharing in property transactions.
